Linear Disposal with Planned Obsolescence contributes to a ‘Disposal Society.’ Considerable quantity of products are being produced, obtained and used and are not envisioned to be everlasting. One of such electronic equipement used by almost everyone are Mobile Phones. The consumers expect a certain type of financial incentive while discarding their mobile phones.
To understand the gap among purchase behaviour of EEE, awareness on e-waste and disposal behaviour of EEE. How to instill the notion of ‘Green Consumerism’ when it comes to E-waste purchasing and discarding. Subsequently coming up with design intervention/interventions to combat the harmful consequence by e-waste generation at consumer level.
People discard electrical gadgets on the basis of the pricing. More expensive the gadget is, more is its storage life after getting obsolete or non-functional. After all at the end the stored obsolete devices are sent into trash by some or the other family member which contribute in E-waste.
